I love street & urban photography because it captures the spontaneous magic of everyday moments.
The “urban landscape” is a stage where life unfolds unpredictably, offering a canvas filled with diverse characters and interactions that tell the stories of humanity in its rawest form.
This genre of photography allows me to explore the beauty in the mundane, the complexity of simple interactions, and the emotion and dynamics of urban life. Each snapshot is a candid reflection of society, immortalising fleeting expressions and movements that might otherwise go unnoticed.
Through my lens, I find not only a deep appreciation for the present moment but also a connection to the world around me that is both profound and humbling.

Is that a self portrait at the end? -
John these are fantastic. Nr 6 feels like a Martin Parr classic! Just like the comments above, these all leave you wondering what your subjects are thinking…what’s their story. Thanks for sharing.

These have a real documentary style, which I love – you really have a talent John, congratulations on your exhibition.

Great shots, John. The girl on her phone is my favourite composition. The unbridled joy of a surfboarder enjoying his hobby, comes through instantly in your photo and I’m intrigued to know what the three women on the bench were finding so captivating. Well done.
