Welcome to Deeside Camera Club’s website.

The club is based in Royal Deeside, west of the city of Aberdeen in Scotland.

New members of all abilities are always welcome at our weekly meetings.

Our meetings include a varied programme of talks and practical activities such as photo shoots and image processing.

We encourage participation and knowledge sharing but you are free to take as active a part as you want in the club’s activities.

We have several assignments that run regularly throughout the year where photographs can be submitted on a set theme and feedback provided by experienced judges. There is a mildly competitive element to these assignments which most members enjoy but the aim is always to provide constructive feedback on the images so that members gain new skills and explore different genres with confidence.

We have talks and presentations on a variety of topics, some from guest speakers and some from within the club’s own ranks where knowledge sharing is the aim. We also have a members only Facebook group. This is often the best way to keep in touch with other members between meetings. We have a weekly photo challenge on the Facebook group which is very popular and a great way for members to share images.

In light of the Covid-19 pandemic like many clubs we were forced to move meetings online via Zoom, however we have now in September 2022 returned fully to in person meetings at our new venue, Aboyne and Mid-Deeside Community Shed.

We have however retained Zoom as an option for those members who feel they cannot yet meet up in public. Zoom is run live during our in person meetings and may still be used for some external speakers.
